How many times Allah name in surah hajj? | Noor Academy

How many times Allah name in surah hajj? Today we will talk about surah hajj and how many times Allah’s name was mentioned in it, in addition to other important information.
Why was surah hajj revealed?
Surah Hajj was revealed to the prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him) when he was in the Madinah to tell the Muslims about the rulings of Hajj (pilgrimage) and how important it is for Muslims to go on pilgrimage.
What is surah al hajj about?
The surah discusses the rulings of Hajj (pilgrimage) and how important it is for Muslims to go on pilgrimage.

Major topics discussed in surah Al Hajj include:

  •       The day of judgment.
  •       Human lives now and in the afterlife.
  •       Allah is always there for the prophet (peace and blessing be upon him).
  •       Any believer whether natives or foreigners have the right to pilgrimage.
  •       Allah is the one who asked the prophet Ibrahim (peace and blessing be upon him) to build the Ka’bah for the believers to come for Hajj (Pilgrimage).
  •       What reaches Allah from the sacrifice of animals is the faith of the believer who sacrifices it not its blood or flesh.
  •       Allah gave permission for the believers to defend themselves and fight back against the disbelievers.
  •       On the day of judgment, Allah himself will judge everyone for what he did in his life.
  •       Allah promises those who migrate for His sake that he will reward them.

When the Muslims migrated to Madinah, and the month of Zul-Hijjah came they remembered their homes in Makkah, the Ka’bah, and Hajj. They were grieving for not being able to visit the Kabah, as the mushrikin of Quraysh prevented them from visiting the Sacred Mosque.

Therefore, they prayed and asked Allah to help them go back to their homes and the Kabah that they were prevented from visiting. Surah Hajj shows the true purpose that the Kabah was built for. And stating that Kabah is built so that believers can worship Allah freely. But over the years the true purpose was forgotten and the Kabah was used to worship Idols, and believers were prevented from visiting it.

Surah Hajj talks to the ones who embraced Islam but refused to endure the hardships in the sake of Allah, true believers, and warning to the mushrikin of Makkah as follows:

Allah warned the mushrikin in the following verse: “You have persisted in your ignorance and trusted your deities instead of Allah, though they possess no power to protect you.”

Warning them that the idols they chose over Allah have no power and can’t protect them.

Also, the ones who embraced Islam but refused to endure the hardships in the sake of Allah were mentioned in the following verse: “What is this faith of yours? You are ready to believe in Allah and become His servants provided you are given peace and prosperity, but if you meet with afflictions and hardships in His Way, you discard Allah and cease to remain His servants. You should bear in mind that this wavering attitude of yours cannot avert those misfortunes and losses which Allah has ordained for you.”

Surah al-Hajj also shows the true believers that the disbelievers don’t have the right to prevent them from visiting the Kabah and performing Hajj. Showing them that Allah is the one who asked the prophet Ibrahim (peace and blessing be upon him) to build the Ka’bah for the believers to come for Hajj (Pilgrimage). Therefore, people from anywhere have the right to perform Hajj just like the native people. It’s why the Kabab was built in the first place.
