My Islamic MannersAkhlaq means good Character This is very important in Islam because it teaches you how to live in the world with the people and leads you to Paradise.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Nothing is heavier on the believer’s Scale on the Day of Judgment than good character. For indeed Allah, Most High, is angered by the shameless obscene person.”(Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2002) My Islamic Manners-Akhlaq

Character building starts very early in a child.

Here are ten easy things for kids to learn and say.

01

(As-salamu alaykum)

When I greet or see someone, I say “As-salamu alaykum.”

It means “Peace be upon you.”

(Wa ʿalaykumu s-salam)

When someone greets me with Salaam, I reply with “Wa ʿalaykumu s-salam.”

It means “And upon you be peace.”

02

03

(Bismillahi ar-Rahmani ar-Rahim)
Whenever I begin a new task or start eating or drinking, I say “Bismillahi ar-Rahmani ar-Rahim.”
It means “In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.”

(Insha’Allah)
Whenever I plan to do something, I say, “Insha’Allah.”
 It means “If Allah wills.”

05

(Subhan Allah)
When something makes me happy, I say, “Subhan Allah.”
It means “Glory be to Allah.”

(JazakAllahu khairan)
When I receive a gift, or someone does something nice for me or helps me, I say, “JazakAllahu khairan.”
It means “May Allah reward you (with) good.”

(Masha Allah la quwatta illabillah)
When I see something that I like or that which pleases me, I say, “Masha Allah la quwatta illabillah”
It means, “This is what Allah has willed. There is no power except with Allah.”

(Al-Hamduli l-lah)
When I sneeze, I say “Alhamdulillah”
It means “All praise is for Allah.”
And, in reply, the person who hears me says يَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ “Yarhamu kallah.”
It means “May Allah have mercy on you.”
And then I say,
It means, “May Allah give you guidance and improve your condition.”

When faced with problems and difficulties, a supplication that I must make very often is “lā ḥawla wa-lā quwwata ʾillā bi-llāh.”
It means, “There is no power and no strength except with Allah.”

When affliction happens, or a disaster strikes, I say “innā li-llāhi wa-ʾinna ʾilayhi rājiʿūn.”
It means, “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.”
